会社員を辞めてから日本語教師を続けてきた。今までの出会いや結びつきは何にも変え難いもので、これからも大切にしたいと思っている。ただ、今後の日本語教師としての活動は、よく考えたいと思っている。人口減少による穴埋め的な外国人の登用に助成する仕事は面白みを感じない。これは私個人の考え方であるので、何とも言えないけれども、日本人がやりたくない仕事は外国人もやりたくないと思うのが私の考え。そこに特化して、専門的な日本語教師を勉強する気にはなれない。私はその人がなりたいものや夢を実現させるためにサポートをしたい。日本はもっと面白い国だと思う。伝統的な物もありながらも、技術や文明は革新的でいい物を取り入れようとする。そこに魅力を感じる外国の人は少なくないと思う。自国の魅力を見失わず、一緒により良い世界を作る一つの国として役割を果たして欲しい。

私も含めて、日本は平和ボケしていると思うほどお人好しなところがある。そのボケをとことん生かして、世界に発信して欲しい。平和ボケ、最高じゃないか。そして、元々持っている武士道のような日本の美徳を心に持ちながら、和という美を訴えるべきだと思う。日本は伝統を生かしつつ、平和に一途な国であって欲しい。そこへ外国の方の力を借りたら最強になるだろう。その為の日本語なら、最高の言語だと思う。

I have been working as a Japanese language teacher since leaving my job as a company employee. The encounters and connections I have made so far are invaluable to me, and I want to continue cherishing them in the future. However, I am considering carefully about my future activities as a Japanese language teacher. I do not find it interesting to support the hiring of foreigners as a stopgap measure due to population decline. This is my personal opinion, but I believe that if Japanese people do not want to do a certain job, foreigners would not want to do it either. Therefore, I cannot motivate myself to study to become a specialized Japanese language teacher in that area. I want to support people in achieving their dreams and aspirations. I think Japan is a fascinating country. While it has traditional aspects, it also embraces innovation and is eager to incorporate good things. I believe that there are many foreigners who find this attractive. I hope that Japan will continue to play a role as a country that does not lose sight of its own attractiveness and contributes to creating a better world. I think Japan is too naive in its pursuit of peace. I want Japan to fully embrace this naivety and share it with the world. Embracing peace naivety is the best, isn’t it? I also believe that Japan should appeal to the beauty of harmony while embodying the traditional virtue of Bushido. I hope that Japan will remain a country that values tradition, pursues peace, and becomes even stronger with the help of foreigners. In that sense, I think Japanese is the best language for achieving this goal.
